Abstract

To cope with the requirements of higher bandwidth efficiency wavelet transform based OFDM system (WOFDM) have been proposed in place of Fast Fourier transform based OFDM systems because of its high spectral containment by many researchers. This paper gives the comparative analysis to check the performance of conventional OFDM and Wavelet based OFDM with different channel coding techniques with different code rate/parameters over the Rayleigh fading channel. The BER performance of comparative analysis shows that Wavelet based OFDM system gives better coding gain than conventional OFDM system and with various forward error correction techniques the performance is further enhanced.
